Recommendations for Fastenal Stores

1. Stock SOME 3D Filament
Customers that come into your store are making everything from gokarts to robots. Many of them have 3D Printers. If you stock a small amount and keep it close, your current customers will spread the word to their 3D Printing friends.

2. Learn a little about 3D Printing

You really don't have to know much about 3D Printing to sell filament. You'll need to know just a few things. These few things will help quite a bit:

• There are two main sizes: 1.75mm diameter and 2.85mm diameter. 
• Most printers use 1.75mm, but about 10-20% use 2.85mm. 
• Quality is measured by the closeness to the standard in diameter and ovality. 
• These are measured in a plus or minus measurement to show how close it is to the actual measurement. ie., for diameter, the industry accepts anything less than ±0.05mm in accuracy. 3D-Fuel strives for ±0.02mm, much better. 
• PLA is the most nature-friendly type. It's made from the carbon dioxide of plants. 
• ABS, ASA, PETG, PP, PC are all petroleum based filaments, but can last longer and hold up better in harsh environments. Now you're an expert!
