Updating Our Free Shipping Threshold to Continue Delivering Value
At 3D-Fuel, we’ve always worked hard to strike the right balance between high-quality, USA-made filament and fair, competitive pricing. Today, we want to share an important update to one of our policies - and more importantly, the reasoning behind it. What’s Changing Effective April 2nd, 2026, our free shipping threshold for US orders in the lower 48 states will increase from $75 to $99 per order. Why We’re Making This Change Over the past year, we’ve seen continued increases across several areas of our operation, including: Raw material costs Packaging and... Read more...
Standard and Tough Pro PLA+ Profiles Now Available for Bambu Lab
This is definitely long overdue, but we have created 3D-Fuel Standard PLA+ and Tough Pro PLA+ profiles for all Bambu Lab 3D printers. Why did this take so long?! Well, in many cases, all you need to do to achieve great 3D printing results with our PLA+ filaments is increase the temperature in a Generic PLA profile from 220 °C to 230-240 °C. That said, we wanted to make it as easy as possible to 3D print with our Standard PLA+ and Tough Pro PLA+ filaments. We have created profiles... Read more...
Separate Profiles For Matte Black and PCTG-CF10 Now Available
Recently, a customer of our Matte Black Pro PCTG requested that we create a separate profile for the Matte Black Pro PCTG to enable easier management of that material in the Bambu Lab AMS system. This now helps to differentiate between Matte Black and Midnight Black in the AMS system, for example. But there is an added benefit of the separate profile - much easier management for pressure advance settings. Matte Black Pro PCTG contains 4% carbon fiber, which changes the ideal pressure advance value from that of non-filled Pro... Read more...
Updated Cooling Strategy for Pro PCTG on Bambu Lab Printers
Pro PCTG is very sensitive to cooling, and your printed strength can be noticeably affected by your cooling settings.  Last month, we created a profile for our Pro PCTG-CF10 filament on the Bambu Lab X1C and H2C. Carbon fiber-filled materials are notorious for having poor layer-to-layer adhesion, even though inter-layer adhesion and part stiffness are much better. To improve the layer-to-layer bonding, we ran a series of cooling profile tests to reduce the cooling fan speeds as much as possible without losing part fidelity. Effectively, it reduces the cooling fan... Read more...

How to Glue 3D Printed PCTG Parts Together (Best Adhesives + What Actually Works)
If you’ve ever thought: “Okay… my Pro PCTG print is done. Now, how do I glue these parts together?” You’re not alone. Pro PCTG is an awesome material for 3D printing because it’s tough, durable, and more forgiving than brittle plastics - especially for functional parts. But that same toughness can make people second-guess what adhesive to use when it’s time to assemble a multi-part model. So we did what we always do: we tested it. In this guide, we’ll break down the best adhesives for 3D-printed Pro PCTG, what works... Read more...

How To Fix Pro PCTG Filament Buildup On Your Nozzle
One of the biggest settings you should change to reduce the buildup you're experiencing is to drop your acceleration rates in your Process settings under the Speed tab. (in Bambu Studio or Orcaslicer, for reference) Bambu Studio defaults to 10,000 mm/s^2. I recommend dropping that to 500 or 1000 mm/s^2. The reason this makes a difference is due to the fact that the toolhead does not have balanced mass above and below the gantry and when it makes a dramatic direction change with fast acceleration rates, it causes the toolhead... Pro PCTG vs PETG 3D Filament Chemical Resistance
3D-Fuel Pro PCTG has broader chemical resistance than PETG.So, what does this mean? Here are chemical types and examples with a breakdown of PCTG's advantage over PETG. The CRR demonstrates how much more resistant Pro PCTG is relative to PETG. For example, a CRR of 1.5 means that Pro PCTG is ~50% more resilient than PETG.How would you use the advantages of Pro PCTG in your 3D prints? Chemical Type Examples PCTG Advantage PETG Limitation Comparison (CRR - how comparatively resistant PCTG is vs PETG) Alcohols Isopropyl alcohol (IPA), ethanol, methanol... Read more...
PCTG vs PETG - Which Is A Better 3D Printing Filament?
Pro PCTG is 20-50% More Impact Resistant Than PETG Key Reasons for Better Impact Toughness: Molecular Structure: PCTG contains cyclohexane dimethanol (CHDM), which gives it increased flexibility and toughness compared to PETG’s ethylene glycol structure. Flexibility vs. Brittleness: PCTG is more ductile, allowing it to absorb and dissipate energy during impact without cracking or shattering. Layer Adhesion: PCTG has better inter-layer bonding when 3D printed, reducing weak points in the structure where impact forces might cause failure. Real-World Implications: Drop Resistance: PCTG parts are less likely to crack, chip, or break... Read more...

What happened to the coffee, beer, hemp and garbage filaments?
To put it bluntly, the realities of supply and demand happened.  These unique composite materials, while cool-sounding, don't provide any sort of mechanical or performance benefit. For the filaments to be 3D printable on standard 3D printers, the particle size has to be pretty small. So it creates a cool-looking material, but that's about it. These materials are wickedly challenging to manufacture, too. Every batch of material that we would get from our compounder would be different. This isn't a huge surprise - these are agricultural waste products at the... Read more...
