Here's the background and inspiration behind each of the new colors.
Toolbox Gunmetal Blue
Heavily, heavily inspired by the tool brand Bosch, we've heard loud and clear that this was a color many of you were dying to get your hands on. In addition, it's also a perfect "snorlax blue" color.
Toolbox Lime
Effectively a perfect color match and inspired by Festool, we had hoped that the regular Lime Green Pro PCTG would be close enough to be a match. Unfortunately, it wasn't close enough and we want to make sure we're giving you all exactly the color that you're looking for. So now we have Toolbox Lime, Lime Green, and Transparent Lime Green color options. You're welcome, Festool-enthusiasts!
Toolbox Forest Green
This color serves three purposes:
- Our production facility is in the Midwest, where the hardware store Menards and its tool brand Master Force reign supreme.
- It's pretty much a spot-on match for North Dakota State University Bison colors (and Packers green, I guess. If it has to.)
- We just really needed a forest green to fill a hole in our color lineup
Toolbox Jig Blue
This is another tool-brand-inspired color for all of you exacting people out there. Which makes sense, as the tool brand that inspired this color is Kreg. Kreg is beloved by woodworkers and craftsmen around the world, and we hope that this Pro PCTG color is similarly beloved.
Transparent Atomic Purple
1990s electronics and video games. Need we say more?
Transparent Ice Blue
We already had Transparent Ultramarine Blue, but we really wanted LEGO lightsaber blade blue. Now we have it, and it is GORGEOUS, making for incredible vases and lampshade prints in vase mode.
Bubblegum Pink
Bubblegum Pink isn't new, per se, but the previous formulation didn't extrude or 3D print up to our exacting standards. We went back to our colorant manufacturer and told them that so many of you were begging for it to come back. And we listen. And they listened. And now it's back!
Electric Pink
First off, this photo doesn't do this color justice. At all. We're upgrading our product photography setup to better capture how bright and vibrant this color is in person. If you're thinking this is a perfect 90s pink, well, that's exactly what we think, too. It was also inspired by a customer request for a match to "Polaris 96 XCR pink". Here it is, and we love it!
Electric Teal
What's 90's hot pink without its complementary color: Electric Teal. It's a gorgeous color on its own, but when paired with the Electric Pink, it's next-level retro cool.
Royal Plum
This is another color that is a challenge to capture accurately in a photo. It's a deep, earthy purple that will be sure to impress.
Why So Similar?
With so many colors that are similar to each other (see: bright lime-y greens), how do they look next to each other? We know you're going to ask, so we printed the same stackable box in every color and grouped them by color, all under the same lighting, so you can more easily compare.
Now you can see what different colors look like, side by side. For example, how does Lime Green look next to Toolbox Lime.
