Pro PCTG → Print Settings + Profiles

Find your Pro PCTG profile here.

At 3D-Fuel, we're working to develop Pro PCTG profiles for as many popular 3D printers as possible, but unfortunately, we're unable to cover every single 3D printer brand, model, and upgrade permutation.

We have our developed profiles available here for download, but if you have a 3D printer we don't have a profile for yet, you can easily create one using the steps below:

  • Start with a PETG profile
  • Increase hotend temp to 250-280C
  • Set textured PEI bed temp to 80C
  • Decrease cooling fan speeds as low as possible
  • No enclosure needed but, if you have one, close the lid and doors
  • If your enclosure is heated, 45C is a good temperature.
  • Calibrate your pressure advance settings
  • Enable a wipe move after retraction
Drying + Storing Instructions

Dry filament is happy filament!

If your dryer can reach 70C, dry at 70C. Otherwise, dry at 65C for a longer period.
Drying Temp: 70C
Drying Time: 6-8 hours

Drying Temp: 65C
Drying Time: 8-12 hours

Please store Pro PCTG in an airtight container with desiccant when possible. Even though Pro PCTG absorbs moisture more slowly than PETG, it will still absorb moisture over time.

Wet filament can cause a poor surface finish on your printed part and may even contribute to nozzle clogging.

Spool Specifications - AMS Compatible

We recently introduced a new lightweight plastic spool that uses 29% less plastic.

It works well in AMS and AMS Lite units, as well as in other units that use a similar spool type.

  • Outer Diameter: 200mm
  • Width: 68mm
  • Empty Weight: 155g
  • Material: Recycled HIPS

Pro PCTG-GF10, 10% Glass Fiber PCTG, Toolbox Orange, 1.75mm

Glass-filled Pro PCTG contains 10% short-strand glass fibers by weight. This acts as a reinforcing mechanism, improving tensile strength and elongation, flexural strength and modulus, and increasing temperature resistance. All of this, with a beautiful matte finish that helps hide layer lines and gives your 3D-printed parts that extra professional look.

Decent print, terrible labeling

"I bought the pctg-gf specifically to evaluate it for functional parts that would be sold to customers. Paid significant extra for the Glass Filled. Box says GF, and invoice says Glass Filled. The actual roll? Nope! It's labeled the same as regular pctg. The qr code links to regular pctg. Did I get what I ordered? Maybe, but I can't trust it enough to evaluate it. Not likely to spend double the price for maybe ever again! It printed fine with Prusaslicer, 3d Fuel pctg presets."

PCTG-GF is awesome

"I just tried the PCTG-GF for the first time printing some shelf brackets. They are incredibly strong and the finish is beautiful, much like CF. A rather matte, almost fuzzy-skin appearance but much more subtle. This appears to be a great filament."

Prints great. Very strong

Pretty good!

"I was interested in glass fiber PCTG as a more rigid, durable around-the-house filament for functional parts. The filament delivers - it stands up to the demands quite well. I selected natural because it was the closest to white, but the appearance is milky and vaguely translucent. It's fine for what I needed it for, but would prefer a pigmented white filament in the future. Printability was a little tougher than Pro PCTG, and there wasn't an exact profile provided at the time, but I was able to adapt from the ones that existed and get pretty good results. You do pay a little bit of a premium for a smaller, American made brand. I didn't mind that so much for a one-off, but I would hesitate to add it to my regular rotation. There are some really high end engineering filaments that I use regularly, and today the cost difference is significant."
