What makes Standard PLA+ "plus"?

Standard PLA+ is our everyday PLA. "PLA+" has no industry definition, so here is what ours means:

100% virgin NatureWorks Ingeo 4043D, with no fillers or regrind
±0.02 mm diameter, measured by multi-axis laser
Tuned for modern fast printers: 220-250 °C and up to 250 mm/s
AMS-compatible 1 kg spools and free print profiles

Can I use Standard PLA+ as supports for Pro PCTG?

Yes, as a breakaway support interface on multi-nozzle printers such as the Bambu Lab H2D, H2C, X2D or Prusa XL. Never run PLA and PCTG through the same nozzle.

Is Standard PLA+ food safe?

The resin is. Standard PLA+ is made from NatureWorks Ingeo 4043D, which complies with FDA food-contact rules (FCN 178) and EU Regulation 10/2011 as supplied.

A 3D-printed part is different: layer lines trap food and bacteria and can't be fully cleaned, so a printed part isn't food safe without a food-safe coating. PLA also softens around 55-60 °C, so keep it away from hot food, hot drinks and the dishwasher.

Standard PLA+ → Print Settings

Most Generic PLA profiles will work fine for 3D-Fuel Standard PLA+.

However, at 3D-Fuel, we're working to develop optimized Standard PLA+ profiles for as many popular 3D printers as possible. Unfortunately, we're unable to cover every single 3D printer brand, model, and upgrade permutation.

We have our developed profiles available here for download, but if you have a 3D printer we don't have a profile for yet, you can easily create one using the steps below:

Start with a generic PLA profile
Recommended Printing Temperature: 220-250C (start at 240C)
Recommended Bed Temperature: 0-60C
Bed Surface: Smooth or Textured PEI, BuildTak, WhamBam
Recommended Print Speed: 60 – 250 mm/s

Drying + Storing Instructions

Dry filament is happy filament!

Drying Temp: 50C
Drying Time: 6-8 hours

Please store Standard PLA+ in an airtight container with desiccant when possible.

Wet filament can result in a poor surface finish on your printed part and may even contribute to clogged nozzles.
